Re: Sophie Shohet
I still found her videos satisfying to watch, but I don't really like her reseller mentality.

unsubscribed from her channel, life too short to listen to her liesChichibangbang wrote: ↑ Screenshot 2019-02-12 at 01.56.33.pngScreenshot 2019-02-12 at 01.56.50.png
So she gets this for nothing as a gift then sells it after use for more than the original price without the Gucci packaging?! Her description is dishonest. In the video she says she made the extra hole in the belt bag herself with a hole punch and even the guy in Harrods asked her about it yet on Depop she says the hole was professionally done!

I create a trash thread, since the rave one is turning into one.

I don’t like this woman. I find her to have this voice that reminds me of those women hosts on a shopping channel - full of disbelief and wonder and fascinated by anything that is shiny. I can’t describe it, it’s like a sales girl that wants her commission.
As for her sense of style, I just shake my head. She has no dress sense whatsoever, and winds up looking like all her clothes were bought from discount retailers from the Far East.
As for her latest ugly bag video, I just rolled my eyes. I’m a professional stylist that has gone to school for years and have worked in the industry and I actually think a lot of the bags are lovely, it’s just how you carry them. We all know that Sophie is probably the only person that can make Chanel look like a knockoff but she doesn’t have the chicness to carry a Gabrielle, let alone hold one.
I often wonder how people watch her and take her stupid advice and fashion tips as gospel.

As a professional ‘stylist’ you should know that the Gabrielle is not meant to be carried in a ‘chic’ manner - it is more of an edgy, street-style bag, hence why Willow Smith, Kaia Gerber and Pharrell were chosen to promote it.Sallyscribble17 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 5:25 amI don’t like this woman. Sorry, you’re utterly wrong. The Gabrielle can be worn in a chic way. There is a way to put things together and the smallest Gabrielle is very, very chic. The medium one is just boring and casual, but there are so many ways you can style the smaller one. I “am” a stylist and a good one and I know my job quite well.
You can be edgy and chic at the same time. And yes, according to my colleagues at Chanel, it can be, and has been, carried in a chic manner. It’s about balance.
As for our botoxed to all her glory, YouTuber, I don’t disagree with some of her bag choices but I loathe her style in general.

Some YTbers styling the Gabrielle bag, I love it, if I had the money I would buy one:

Re: Sophie Shohet
The one thing I like a lot about Sophie is that her stuff, whether tacky or not, really makes her light up and makes her happy-for a while (as do most material possessions). But she just ENJOYS herself, tries to make a good living, and doesn't apologize for being herself. I find her refreshing in that way-i wish she'd stop with the Botox and constant facial or body alteration. That turns me off and i think a part of what makes her clothing style tacky is that she thinks that if something is tight, it looks good because it shows off her body or boobs. If she bought things that fit her well and accessorized simply, got a good haircut, she would look tons better. And no more mirrored furniture! Still, I imagine her coming home and being essentially, happy (if stressed), and genuine, and that's a lot more than you can say for many Y Tubers, even if they look chic as hell.

Re: Sophie Shohet
To me she doesn't seem "that" happy, she seems to like the rush of buying new stuffs, but get bored easily and resell...

Re: Sophie Shohet
That Asian lady has horrific style my goodness. Except for the last one with the blue coat. Chanel’s campaign styling is much better, in my opinion

Re: Sophie Shohet
It's personal taste I guess, I love both girls. Some styling in the official campaign were ok, but some were trying to be too (forced) edgy/cool to me.
Re: Sophie Shohet
Totally agree with you! She does seem to be happy- even if it is just the dopamine rush of buying something new. She seems to have other stuff going on in her life (work, friends, travel, family) that seem to fulfill her and YT is still just something she does for enjoyment rather than income, so it's easy for her to have a laugh with it all.hollygolt wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 8:37 pmThe one thing I like a lot about Sophie is that her stuff, whether tacky or not, really makes her light up and makes her happy-for a while (as do most material possessions). Even now that she's taken up jewelry making as a hobby- she seems to really be having fun with it! Who cares if others like her pieces? She's found a way to relieve stress and have fun. She's wearing a lot of the necklaces she's made herself in her vids and you can tell she is dead proud of them. I think that's just awesome! She knows her stuff isn't as nice as something she could buy, but she's chuffed it's her own unique work. I'm happy for her
I'm not a fan of fillers and botox but her face, her choice. At least she's open about it and doesn't seem to censor the comments she gets on her videos. I seriously totally respect that.

Re: Sophie Shohet
I didn't mean she seemed happy every moment about every purchase or that she doesn't need that shopping fix sometimes (which isn't great but it's common), more like she just isn't going to get all defensive and upset when other people call her tacky or her taste in some things tacky - she likes it and she keeps it that way for now. She just seems like a more well rounded person , even with the attendant YTuber issues, than some.

Re: Sophie Shohet
I agree and who knows what hideous clothes are hiding under that coat
Re: Sophie Shohet
Do you ladies know more about her background/wealth status and in which area of England she lives (without sharing specific location for privacy concerns etc)?
I’m curious as she seems to be spending so much to maintain her luxury style from the outside with handbags, cars etc but her bourse for instance looks pretty normal and her furniture looks quite cheap (which might be also due to her tacky taste)
