The Sims
Re: The Sims
They put pools in now, I think so many people were annoyed by it that they decided to release an update but oh my god I love the sims, I love getting new clothes/furniture/hair etc from TSR it's just the best thing to exist. Does anybody else download stuff for the sims?

Re: The Sims
Does anyone else play it really safe on the sims? haha. I never make my sims do anything weird or do anything that'll make their mood bar right down. I might have to try it because it's probably a lot more fun

Re: The Sims
Um, long thread, so just to contribute to some things I've read. and add in my experience..I have 2 adults in Sims 3, one working as a Tier 9 doctor, one a SAHM, a teenager, a child, and 4 toddlers. And no cheats, unless someone in the FAMILY gets stuck.
I mean, I have a lot more saved families, but that's basically a whole essay. I've been obsessed with this family and I don't know exactly why...could be because of my clock problems. That's a whole issue with me...
The whole family runs on empty. Coffee isn't worth it because they fall asleep before they can down the coffee I'd say about 90% of the time. There is no time to call a babysitter. The kids can't do their homework. The father finally lost his top tier job and his many salary increases. The 4-5 toddlers have slowly taken their toll. AND, to top it off, those clock/movement issues. Things don't always move or go smoothly or people stand still for a bit. If real babies are anything like this, I'm READY. The girls usually sleep in school for a bit and then do their homework, and that's ONLY if they make it to school. I am amazed I have kept everyone above a C average.
And this is where the Sims flaw is, IMHO. The teenager helps take care of all her siblings. The little girl has to withstand all the SCREAMING. And I mean, sure, I could send her over to a friend's house every single day, but just too difficult for me to game play all that and keep pausing and keeping up her relationship and sacrificing homework time for friend time and sacrificing sleeping in school when that is the ONE place she CAN sleep...
This is what happens when philandering husbands that kiss other women in Egypt and from work fornicate with their ex-wives.
Back to the kids. And when they can't make it to school, the toddlers are at their red zones and the parents stops everything to scold the dang kid!!! I keep praying they fall asleep and can then go back to attacking with the claw and feeding and changing and hopefully putting to bed. Oh, and they actually don't usually fall asleep for scolding lol. Sometimes they will travel MILES with 0% energy to scold their kid for being tired because THEIR spawn won't shut up and let them sleep. I mean, what parent wouldn't understand?! We need a "talk to teacher about homelife" option, lol.
And with all the problems, the toddlers are all toilet trained and can walk and talk. Some have some toy experience, even! And my teenager makes lunch and dinner and the child makes breakfast. I have Sims University. Have yet to use it for them lol. Probably won't.
And moths are SO hard to find. Mostly in spring by the jail. How symbolic (moth to flame, criminal to money...).

Re: The Sims
The Sims is my guilty pleasure.
I refuse to buy Sims 4 though, it just seems like such a step down from Sims 3. Sims 4 seems more like what Sims 3 should have been and Sims 3 is like Sims 4. I religiously play Sims 3 though after like 8 years of Sims 2 haha. I wish I could own more EPs but my main desktop broke a while back and I haven't bothered to fix it yet so I'm playing it on my macbook air which barely has enough room. The base game and Late Night just about fit but I have no room for any CC alas

Re: The Sims
ahh the sims!! The game has helped me though some tough times so i am proud to say that i have an addiction i actually don't hate the sims4. It is completely different game but it's a fun game for what it is worth. The cartoon style grows on you. I am more of a family player so it sucks to see the developers move away from that aspect and become more "party/goal" oriented.

Re: The Sims
I still haven't played TS4. I love how real they look, but I don't like how they removed the open world, story progression, toddlers, amongst other things. Story progression is probably my favorite thing about TS3; I'll probably end up getting 4 if I can get it really cheap!
Re: The Sims
The Sims 3 is by far my favourite of the series. I really enjoy TS4 (especially after the new Halloween stuff. I love that!) and there's some stuff from TS2 that I miss a lot (I actually miss the private schools), but 3 is just the best game imo.
I tend to play legacies, and I find that TS3 works the best for that. The life span is very manageable, and the story progression is just so much better. Also I love the amount of customisation. One of the things I miss in the new game is the ability to change colours and textures on everything - although of course TS4 wins in terms of sim customisation. It's so much fun to be in CAS!

Re: The Sims
You have to learn how to adjust but when you think about the missing content it's bad lol . I can't visit my neighbors and it can be hard to keep the ages straight with a big family. But like i said before, it is a fun game for what it is! Definitely buy it on sale since the full price is crazy!!BornThisWay94 wrote:I still haven't played TS4. This is the biggest thing that i miss! i rotate between families so i am always confused on who i want to age up. It's stressful at timesPastel Rage wrote: I tend to play legacies, and I find that TS3 works the best for that. The life span is very manageable, and the story progression is just so much better. Yes, I play legacies too. My current household is I believe my 4th or 5th generation of the family; and yes, I totally agree about private school! I miss having to impress the Headmaster even though I usually screwed up
Re: The Sims
Does anyone have recommendations for fun legacies to play? I love perfect genetics, and I play the random legacy whenever I start to get bored with the game. I'd love something new though!
Re: The Sims
I'm playing the alphabet challenge where the first generation names start with A, second with B etc.Pastel Rage wrote:Does anyone have recommendations for fun legacies to play? English is not my first language so sorry if I make any mistakes!
Re: The Sims
Oh, I remember that one! I think I played a couple of generations of that one, but then my game crashed I should give it a try again.garapoes wrote:I'm playing the alphabet challenge where the first generation names start with A, second with B etc.Pastel Rage wrote:Does anyone have recommendations for fun legacies to play?
