I think the only thing wrong with that theory is that Shane takes requests for a lot of those videos. So he isn't the one coming up with the ideas.

I think for the milkshakes and cakes at least he's just trying to go over the top with things to be outrageous rather than destroy the food. With his galaxy and turning food black videos, those have more or less been rip-offs of other youtubers like threadbanger.

I think it's probably a good reason he is doing it, but those videos are so hard to watch. Knowing how much money and food was wasted on that crap. I would have rather him give the money or food to a shelter or work at a soup kitchen or something.

I noticed he only takes one bite and spits out half the food and five will get you ten when he makes those cakes and the food is half eaten he's gone on a binge.

Theres like a 95% chance this is accurate Imo.
I'm anorexic and bulimic. If I were a YouTuber, I could see myself doing a lot of the things involving food that Shane does. I'm completely obsessed with food; my life revolves around it, and I think that's how Shane is, too. Even if you're not eating it, even playing with it the way he does is just another way to focus on it. Seeing other people eat is even satisfying. I put food that I know I will eat in the garbage disposal, I'll throw it away (and pour dish soap or something similar on it so I won't get it back out), etc, and Shane combining foods together like he does is pretty much the same thing. The amount of food videos he does is, Imo, because he just wants to focus on food whether he's eating it or not. It's food porn to him, even the disgusting ones. For example, the video with him and Drew trying those burgers; why the hell were they cold? Because Shane knew then that he wouldn't like any of them or want to eat more than that one bite. I think the food videos might even start when he is in binge mode, but knows that in front of a camera he won't binge, so he decides to make a video of him sitting it all out instead. This all sounds so spot on to things I would/currently do, it's the only reason I'm able to sympathize with Shane and not just see him as a completely fake douchebag. I know how hard it is to be so obsessed with food and I just see it in so much of his content.

Yeh i feel that is all true lol he told us he gives away some of the food to his mum too and some he throws out, some he genuinely hates, i think he poured all those milkshakes he made down the sink too, it had SO much sugar in it lol, they don't look good to me really because i know how much sugar is in them, maybe that's why he added so much to make them SO sweet he wouldn't want any more after just a 1 or 2 sips lol. Indeed it's food porn to him, if he saw the way i bit into a burger id tempt him to eat big time, i get all up in a burger lol i honestly love watching him eat too like even if i'm not crazy about food like him i just love how amazed he is about food and how he gets aroused by it? if that's the word? LOL omg... it's so funny but so intruiging, but it must also suck wanting to eat everything.

I think there's a possibility, but I see both sides.

Now I know everyone is different, but typically when someone has an eating disorder, they do their "rituals" (destroying, bingeing, purging, etc.) in secret because they are ashamed and don't want anyone to think there is a problem.

He doesn't swallow his food, or puts it in his mouth and spits it out, or has one bite. I never really thought about this but I'm going to look out for it in his videos now. Thankfully he doesn't really make these videos anymore but it does make you wonder if he ate the leftover food or deliberately ruined it.
