YES! E X A C T L Y ! And what is frustrating to me in this go-round is that she doesn’t take a step back and listen without defensiveness creeping into every post she made about it. I feel like she used to be more measured and gracious in her responses to criticism and/or hate. She used to get creative with it (remember that viral “photoshop” video she did last year? It got media attention!) A lot of the upset wasn’t about her doing the 90 Day Journey, it was her naming the number and the fact that people were worried it would make THEM spiral if they compared themselves to her number. I can’t recall if she addressed that in particular.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 6:22 pmShe recently did a genetics test that confirmed that she does have genetics that make her prone to being overweight if she is not meticulous about exercise and eating right. She said she was 'chubby' when she was a kid but some kids are before puberty. I believe her. For some people losing or maintaining weight takes a conscious effort. But I agree in the sense that I don't understand what is problematic about being 5'5 and 135 pounds, especially when she is quite toned and some of that would be muscle weight. I know when she first started out she was 115-125 pounds and a lot thinner but she even said herself that came from restriction and overexercise. I wonder if being East-Asian, she feels pressure to be at the lower end of BMI because of the prevalent idea that East-Asians are a lot thinner and lighter in terms of bone density? I mean, if she wants to decrease her body fat and achieve specific fitness goals, I don't see anything wrong with that. However, I do believe women or people who have more oestrogen should be having a decent amount of fat on them. It is quite normal for women, for example, to have lower belly fat to protect their uterus. The way female fitness models train their bodies is not attainable or even healthy for a lot of women. Most of them lose their periods, have their hair, skin and nails go to shit etc. I mean, I don't think she is going to that extreme again but I do think she should be careful. I don't think she understood that when she made that blog post about being 'at the highest weight she has ever been' and that weight was like 135 pounds or whatever....that is what most 'average-skinny' women weigh. That did sort of lean into ED-thinking. While that may no necessarily be what she meant, I think she should know that it was that phrasing that had people sceptical of her 90-Day journey being a descent into ED territory again. Plus, I think it is normal for some women to weigh a little more going into their 30's?
I think for some people they will always have a specific weight in their minds that they want to be at which I think is unhealthy. TBH I think it is more realistic to try to be within a certain healthy range and understand that there are going to be times you will be heavier and lighter lol. I hope she is doing okay. I've been reading her blogs and she is eating normally, even snacks.
Anyway, now that I see her defensiveness I can’t unsee it. That Blue Apron ig series “ Does the way I’m holding my knife scare you guys?” Honestly honey, no, but you sure chose a long knife to cut tiny potatoes.
