Also, can anyone tell me why she never posts photos of herself smiling with her teeth showing? Her teeth aren't that bad (at least the upper ones). All these pursed-lipped smiles look so forced.

Probably because she thinks it's "fashion".
In some of her very early pics she smiles and looks genuinely happy (in some of the pics she uses as examples of her fashion mistakes) , but at some point she's decided that colour, personality and smiling just isn't in style anymore.

You are so right. If you read her comments to people inquiring about how she's doing, she says things like "All good here " and "Mental health comes before videos." Which I infer as, she's fine and avoiding work because filming a video about clothes and shoes could be her psychological downfall. Her world will come tumbling down if she does a round up of the names she's given her luxury bags.

Not only is she making light of mental health, she's positioning her actions as absolved of any kind of consequence. Many people have lost/will lose their jobs because of COVID-19, and lots of them won't have jobs again for a long, long time. But Emma knows her stupid job will still be there. Once shelter in place lifts, she can just hop right back in, tanned and rested after her extended vacation, and carry on as usual.

To me she encompasses all the negative aspects of an only child. Sorry to offend any only children out there, but I have several only child friends and they really can’t adult...they can’t function at the slightest bad thing to happen

I've thought this before, too. I won't make a sweeping statement about actual only children (all the ones I know are able to function just fine... and there are people I know with siblings who are a trainwreck), but if you were to imagine a stereotype, it would be Emma. Can't play well with others, can't take criticism, must have everything her way, self-centered, small-minded, un-empathetic, domineering, and a control freak.

Mental health aside, how privileged do you have to be to consider quarantine caused by a global pandemic a holiday?!

Her all or nothing approach is confusing. She's either madly posting or posting nothing, there's no inbetween. Lockdown is an example of this, starts off posting frequently on You Tube, then all of a sudden stops, and is nothing but rude to anyone who asks why. Maybe she gets enough income from ads via her You Tube back catalogue.

I think the biggest struggle Emma is going probably going is that she can't go to Disneyland for awhile, omg. She's a spoiled brat baby.

Is it common for brits to learn about the Confederate flag in history class? Not that Emma seems like someone who enjoys learning by any means but you'd think she'd know how bad it is to share a photo with the Confederate flag in it? Maybe I'm odd bcim an American who knows what is generally going on in UK politics and pay attention to stuff around the world politically.

I just came here to post about how weird this was, but for a different reason. I don't remember seeing a confederate flag prominently featured in any photo, and I also didn't read the comments. But context is important. The Confederate flag is not forbidden, but the way you show it is going to make a big impact on how people react to it. If her photo was of the Confederate flag next to an automatic weapon under a framed photo of Hitler and a swastika, that's one thing. But if it was, as I suspect, a more innocuous display, than I'm inclined to give this clueless British tourist a pass (also, I say all this as a socialist-leaning liberal, minority, immigrant American who grew up in the South, so don't come for me!).

I wonder if her pause is purely financial. Maybe sponsors are offering less money right now and she doesn’t want to negotiate down from where her fees were. That is why she is going to wait until the stay at home is lifted even though she mainly films at home anyway? The thing is, the economy is probably not going to bounce back right away so I personally think holding off is a bad plan. Just a thought. Most youtubers make most of their money from their sponsorships, the ad money has gone down and down the longer youtube has been around.

An Australian influencer (affordable fashion, granted not the same as Emma) posted yesterday that in recent months her income stream from collabs etc have gone down by 90%. That would be an incredibly stressful situation-if I were an influencer right now I'd be trying to maintain as much of my income as possible e.g. via affiliate links and ads on YT, blogging more often to drive up ad revenue. The influencer I mentioned has high engagement, to the point that her followers actually ask her for affiliate links to support her.

As mentioned Emma mostly films from home, doesnt often show us social events or her going out...cant imagine the lockdown restrictions are really going to limit her from producing her content. She may not be able to go out to shoot pics but there are many ways to showcase items that don't necessitate this (also if u look at her feed, majority of the pics are similar in terms of pose, background,editing- yes it's her aesthetic but also she's such a one trick pony).

She is incredibly fortunate to be in this position and not have to "work". Good for her and Simon,after all we don't know their financial position (nor is it our business)...but I would be much more careful not to alienate my audience, and try and prepare for the future as much as possible.
Things are going to change, whether we like it or not.

Realistically it was never going to be sustainable to do daily lockdown diaries like they did in the beginning. Although I'm sure they were enjoyed- if she had spread out that content, she'd still have things to post now. We have seen how she struggles with these type of intense schedules (e.g. vlogmas for several years now, briefly increasing to 3 vids a week), and it seems to be a pattern that she starts something with gung ho,then burns out and goes into hiding for weeks after.

I can't help but compare Emma with KarenBritChick. They have a very similar follower count but their approaches are entirely different. Karen promotes individuality, a quirky style, but most importantly: she has so much fun putting outfits together. She literally squeals with excitement when she pairs unexpected things.
Look how happy she gets with the white shoes (6:50) and black top/trousers (8:50): in here:

Karen genuinely loves thrifting and always shows multiple ways one piece can be worn, and she promotes getting the most use out of what one already owns- proper sustainability without the need to label it as such and without trying hard to push "sustainability" with her own hashtag . Karen is just more authentic.
She genuinely loves playing with clothing and has such a positive message around finding your own unique look and not following other people's uniforms. I can't help but compare and contrast with Emma, who is so bland in her choices but also has zero enthusiasm for her style vlogs.
Let's also note that Karen is still consistently uploading content whilst Emma appears to have been brainwashed into a stupor by her Disney binge.

I got a rec telling me Emma is back, clicked her update video from a month ago, she says she won't have a set scheduled days because she'll feel pressured.. Uhm ma'am, deadlines are not Al in the real world, hello? And no vlogs because she doesn't want people in her weekly life but she'll vlog travel.. Yeah, I clicked off.. Sounds like she doesn't want to work but I guess they need money
