I wouldn't say he's on the food chain at all. he (and those russian asmrtists that hustle for that USD/greencard...yall know who I'm talking about) are part of "cringe asmr". it's unfortunate. I feel he has potential to produce great asmr videos (and he has in the past)...but the ugly duckling drag queen makeup, the huge number of ads, and the weird and stupid subjects ( like walmart cashier...really?) all bring down the quality of his content. I used to loooove tony back in 2013-2014. I wish he would have continued to produce content like that.

Seriously, it feels like he makes his videos now purely for all the people who comment 'yaaaaaas queen' and 'your make-up is slaying' and all that bollocks. He claims helping people is his calling, but he literally only cares about being bigged up in the comments section. And what is with the constant food? His latest makeup video couldn't just be a relaxing makeup story time. It had to involve......... a berry pie. Why.

Speaking of Tony thinking he's more famous than he is - made me chuckle when he told his viewers to go check out James Charles in the video where he tries to do a James Charles makeup look. Like, Tony... James Charles doesn't need your shout out, bud.

I think he's found a groove that works for him in terms of making a steady income, and that's really the primary thing he cares about. He has talked quite a bit previously about the money side of Youtube in terms of things like how the various Youtube algorithms work, how various factors such as frequency of upload, video lengths, titles, number of comments, topic etc all influence the money you can make as a full time Youtuber. As much as the production values, subject matter and number of ads in a lot of his videos totally suck, I think it's nonetheless all working for him to make him steady money and that is what matters to him. I'm sure the group of dedicated fans who always comment and thumbs up play their part in that too.

Occasionally he runs away with himself saying (and probably believing) that what he actually cares about is helping people with his ASMR and that's all that matters, but at the end of the day he has a mortgage to pay. I think there is zero chance that he'll do less ads, or fewer videos but with better quality, as long as his current formula keeps paying his bils.

It makes sense, and I guess in a way you can't blame him, but I just wish he'd be honest about it. One of my favourite ASMR YouTubers, River, just put out a video today discussing how much he makes from videos and stating frankly that he does it for the money, and helping people is a bonus. I respect that a lot more than Tony making out he lives by all these wonderful mindful philosophies, and his calling is purely to help people, when in the next breath he's showing off all his business books and salivating over money and pushing any sponsorship going, regardless of whether or not it's cheap and nasty, or relevant to ASMR.

Plus, I feel like he doesn't pay attention to his views, which is what makes him the money in the first place. For someone with over 200k subscribers his views are incredibly low (especially for ASMR, which will include a lot of repeat viewers). The videos that do well are his personal attention/make-up/doctor ones. So what does he make? Cringy roleplays and mukbangs. If he was a decent businessman, surely he'd stick to what does the best. Like most people on here, I feel Tony was at his best between 2013-2015, and his views from that time reflect this.

Slightly unrelated - anyone know how Tony could get approved for a mortgage on such a decently sized house in Florida on YouTube money? Not saying he doesn't make enough to pay the bills, but surely nobody would lend on a job with so little security?

I don't think he's racist, but he's incredibly ignorant, which is obvious by how he tries to play "foreign" characters in his videos and is really stereotypical about them (e.g. the Spanish maid, the rude & highly strung French fashion designer, and don't even get me started on that awful love guru video...). All the usual ways young people would have their views challenged (friends, going out and socialising, getting through university etc.) Tony has never really had, so it's sadly not much of a surprise that he can be so insensitive/wrong/downright offensive.

And I'm not the kind of person who is quick to jump on the 'oh my God everyone is racist' train but some of the things Tony believes and says about race and nationality are so weird and wrong.

So Tony uploaded a video the other day called “cleaning you up after an argument” Cleaning up as in cuts, bruises, glass etc. Now is it just me or does that sound an awful lot like a domestic abuse role play? He mentions in the video that the viewer “works security” but I get the feeling he said that to cover his ass in case he gets backlash. Let’s remember, he did a volcano survivor role play earlier this year, so he’s done this sort of thing before.

I actually thought he was starting to improve. His house-buying video seemed quite genuine and fairly well-researched, and most importantly it didn't have that insufferable know-it-all attitude his life advice videos usually have (I didn't actually watch it for advice, I just like simple speaking ASMR videos so I had it on in the background). Anyway, that improvement in character plus the fact he's been uploading like crazy recently almost made me think... hey, he's starting to change a little bit. I was like, you know what, good for him, he's clearly working hard to give his viewers more content and has stopped making quite so many ridiculous "sassy" (cringy) videos and his advice videos actually seem a little more altruistic.

Then I realised... randomly mentioning the added cost of installing a pool in his house buying video? Followed by a "pool consultant" video using real blueprints?

Yep. Dude's buying a pool. Sudden surge in uploads is for cash. There's me thinking he was doing it out of a desire to please his viewers

hahahahahah the "hospital" roleplay. I'm like, 4 minutes in and I can't keep a straight face. If you're going to do a medical roleplay, don't use words like "band-aid" (that's a brand, say "bandages", "we put you on the IV and gave you medicine" (maybe be specific? even a little?) and bad mouth nurses as a doctor. He's also leaning over the bed propped up on his elbows. What kind of a doctor would do that?

finally made an account on here, thank you for your run-downs and insight XD i've followed tony for a long time now but only recently have I noticed all this other stuff going wrong! have you seen his most recent vlog, "Why I will never be happy?"

I feel so bad for him bc I think even he has moments where he sees how his lack of self-awareness and general seclusion has created who he is today, but he doesn't seem to be able to go out there and try to work on it.
