Re: Shay “most eligible Mormon father of 5 bachelor” Carl pt. 42
Yeah, from Logan's video it was pretty obvious Shay didn't have the kids at all on Thanksgiving. And, yes, Shay uses the kids for IG footage, so it seems like he has them more often. I think they spend most of their time with Colette. She has pretty much left SM and she does't use them for attention like he does.
Re: Shay “most eligible Mormon father of 5 bachelor” Carl pt. 42
I was watching a video brailee did and she said she has lunch with gavin at his house. so I assume he drives to colette's for their lunch break or something. she also said she is very close to gavin and they both went to starbucks together since gavin had never been (they got tea). It seems gavin is doing a lot of drive thru stops now that he can drive anywhere he wants. I anticipate he'll get even bigger than he is now.
Re: Shay “most eligible Mormon father of 5 bachelor” Carl pt. 42
I want to mention also that I think it's good that they passed the minivan to gavin to drive in instead of buying him a new car, even though they can obviously afford it. Eventually I think Shay will pass his truck to him once he gets his tesla in a few years time and Avia can get the minivan once she gets her permit.

Do you think she still is practicing LDS? If she’s headed towards Zen Buddhism then I don’t understand how she can hold on to all the Mormon values. I just want her to travel far away and have her pray, love, eat journey. She needs to get away from the community.
Re: Shay “most eligible Mormon father of 5 bachelor” Carl pt. 42
I’ve wondered a few times if she’s been going through a faith crisis. Of course, this is just speculation. Usually when going through a faith crisis, people become even more religious to try and reinforce their beliefs, but then eventually come through the crisis not believing anymore.

It’s interesting to note that she started this “rebirth” journey a few months ago. I am assuming when she moved out. She also notes that her emotions were mostly negative before she started her gratitude journey. Something major must have happened this year and it looks like she has been reevaluating her faith, marriage, life etc. I hope she makes a video soon about this.rdt1004 wrote:I’ve wondered a few times if she’s been going through a faith crisis. They split right after their anniversary in January, so maybe not just "a few months" ago. She's still going to church. I think they are just getting a divorce like so many other couples.
The Starbucks thing is odd. Mormons don't drink coffee or hot tea. They also used to not be allowed any caffeine at all. I actually know MANY who still don't drink any caffeine. The LDS religion is so odd. They seem to change the rules to keep followers (and their $$$$$$$).

My best friend in high school was Mormon, and back then, they weren't allowed to drink caffeinated sodas. Now it's ok to chug Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke. And those coconut milk and soda drinks *shudder*.space_cadet wrote:They split right after their anniversary in January, so maybe not just "a few months" ago. She's still going to church. Starbucks has plenty of decaf drinks. Carlie was "obsessed" with the "pink drink" for a while. She even tried to get Starbucks to call it "the Carlie" (unless she was joking, but I don't think she was)
What I don't understand is why they say that the coffee and tea ban is for health, but coffee and tea, especially green tea, are SO much better for you than soda, any kind of soda.

Starbucks barista here, pink drink has as much caffeine as a shot of espresso. I don’t understand religion limiting you on what you drink hahalmmomSD wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 6:43 amMy best friend in high school was Mormon, and back then, they weren't allowed to drink caffeinated sodas. The amount of pop all the Butler’s drink is insane. Looks like Lenny was having some Diet Coke in Carlie’s IG story today. Diet pop is the worst kind of pop too!

Yeah the thought of giving young kids coke of any sort totally beggars belief. Do you think they imagine the diet version is ok to put in their bodies because it has no sugar? Can they be that ignorant? Or do they not even think about it either way? I’m usually reluctant to criticise parenting on things like food because I think people can be a bit over sensitive about what children should eat. But Coca Cola is so patently awful for you whatever way you look at it. And it’s also completely unnecessary- no nutritional value, not even particularly hydrating. Juice is one thing, yeah it’s full of sugar but kids drink juice,it’s not the end of the world. But coke? wtf. So damn irresponsible.

They are all aiming for that trolltard body type goals. It’s hard to achieve and it requires a lot of sugar and processed food!

And you can cut juice! I used to make it 50/50 with water.horatio wrote:Yeah the thought of giving young kids coke of any sort totally beggars belief. I can't imagine giving a baby Lenny's age soda, especially caffeinated! Diet Coke is awful for anyone, but the caffeine in her little body would wreak havoc.
And thanks for the heads up on the pink drink! But Starbucks does have a couple of decaf drinks, right?

Totally. And it’s a good way to keep kids hydrated when they won’t drink water. As I said Coca Cola is pure indulgence, drinking it basically has no benefits at all. And don’t get me wrong I love it every now and then (especially hungover) but giving it to kids so young just seems wrong.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 8:31 pmAnd you can cut juice! Yes! All espresso drinks and Frappuccino’s can be made decaf!:) the passion iced tea is decaf as well. I sound like a sales pitch haha.lmmomSD wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 8:31 pmAnd you can cut juice! Okay I feel totally ignorant here. I love Diet Coke. Aside from the artificial sweetener, why is it "the worst?"

That is pretty much it. Artificial sweeteners can actually increase your cravings for sugar. There are lots of articles online from reputable sources that outline the risks of artificial sweetener intake. For adults, in moderation, it's not totally evil. But for a baby Lenny's age, or a toddler Elliot's age, it isn't a good idea.Summersby wrote:Okay I feel totally ignorant here. I love Diet Coke. ^^ Yeah, you're better of eating the real sugar. There's actually a documented rise in obesity in America that correlates with the invention of these artificial and zero calorie sweeteners.
One thing I"m super passionate about is spreading the message that if a food company is making a food they're claiming "sugar free" or "gluten free bread" or whatever, they are most likely replacing the sugar or the gluten or whatever it is with a chemical that is just as toxic to your body. They've got to make up for the taste somehow.

Right. And all the fat-free foods that came out in the early 90's had more sugar to make up for the fat.thisisnotmyusername wrote:^^ Yeah, you're better of eating the real sugar. It's also the switch from sugar to high fructose corn syrup that causes issues.
For someone who claims to want a "skinny" body, and who spent as much time as she did with Steve, Carlie is fecking clueless about nutrition.

She's giving a toddler DIET COKE?? WTF?! I haven't watched in a long time, but that's pretty insane. The Butlers are crazy about sugar and caffeine.
Also, I LOVE the Starbucks passion iced tea!! LOL! Now I want one.
