Now had there been hard liquor or other beer cans scattered about, totally but at the end of the day he's just drinking a beer and spending time with his family. I didn't even see any other people or boats on the water. Just my opinion but my family is laid back. My dad always had a beer or two when we went boating and there was never a problem.borderlinebetty wrote:I haven't been on here forever, and I don't think I've ever posted anything except for the first 2 initial posts you are supposed to do, but this is worthy of posting. I've enjoyed Mel's videos in the past, but now I just can't support someone who allowed this. This is a screenshot of a video she posted on instagram. I knew what I saw, but it went by too fast and had to view it on my computer to be able to pause it. Rick drinking alcohol, Coors Light, while driving his boat with their daughter Hadlie on board. This is beyond negligent. He should be reported and given a BUI. I downloaded the video in case she decides to delete it and pretend it never happened like her relationship with Adam.
And oh my goodness I wish I had seen that periscope.
I understand your opinion on this, but respectfully disagree. I don't think you are by any means alone in feeling that way, in fact, thinking it's not a big deal may even be the more popular opinion. I used to go boating often but live in a community with a large number of boaters who happen to share the it's not a big deal mentality. It's a much more serious problem than one might think. Sorry to get all statistical here, (thanks google) but in 2014, 16% of fatalities on the water were due alcohol, so why take the risk with your own family or risk someone else's family? True, I don't see a boat full of empty beer cans, or a bunch of boats on the water from the view she shows, but it still makes me sick to see this because of the risk they are taking and what we have personally had to deal with, with people who had more than just the one or two beers. It's negligent and irresponsible. We're pretty laid back ourselves, and enjoy having drinks but would never want to risk our or someone else's life because we had a few drinks and caused an accident or weren't able to react fast enough to avoid one.
