Wait, so their parents knew? Or what does the author mean by saying that? If so, they should be charged as well.

What the actual heck! This makes me so angry. What kind of parent doesn't report their kid missing when THE KID IS MISSING?! Those sex traffickers and the parents need to go to prison. Those kids will never be the same again.

I think the reason for some of the kids not being reported as missing might be the fact that sex traffickers choose kids that wouldn't be missed. That would include kids that might be orphans or without parents who are at all involved in their lives. It's sad but most kids who disappear who are wards of the state are just considered run-aways. It's not entirely just the parent's fault, it's more than likely the agencies that "care" for these kids who are just wards of the state.
